Rose A. Scalia, Director of Human Resources at The Corcoran Group, has over a decade of commercial and residential HR experience and is a well-respected professional within her field.

Prior to joining The Corcoran Group, Rose was Director of Human Resources for Douglas Elliman and Arcade Building Services, a division of Tishman Speyer Properties. Originally from Pennsylvania, her career has been multi-faceted over the years. From 1994 through 1999, she was producer and on-air personality of “The Rose Report”, a Saturday morning radio call-in talk show based in Wilkes Barre/Scranton, Pa., which featured local success stories for listeners “who want more out of life.”

Her penchant for motivational training, enhanced by experience as an Off-Broadway actress and singer, evolved into a series of dynamic motivational seminars she hosted throughout the New York City metro area, including classes at The Learning Annex and Archdiocese of New York.

A humanitarian by nature, Ms. Scalia was awarded the local Queens Borough Community ‘Good Egg’ Award presented by Fred Trump and the Queens Chamber of Commerce. She co-hosted the first Kaufman Astoria Motion Picture Studio Awards Dinner on the main sound stage honoring Mayor Koch and the Queens Borough President and served on the Board of Directors of the Flushing Boys Club, Queens Division. After graduating from Queens College with a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communications, she joined Queens Congressman Gary Ackerman’s 7th Congressional District as staff assistant, and later an active campaigner and fundraiser for Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Governor Pataki.

Rose has always been a strong advocate of professional development training whether by day as a Human Resource manager, or as a part-time Adjunct Professor at New York University where she teaches Human Resource Practices in the evening curriculum. You’ll often hear her say, “We need to help people develop their talent and skills and realize their successes especially in today’s constantly changing business environment.”

Rose is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and is Vice President of her co-op board in Jamaica Estates.
