Madeleine Calder is a deeply dedicated real estate professional who is generous in both the time and effort she gives to clients, and tireless in her quest to fulfill their unique residential goals. A native of Coral Gables and current resident of Palm Beach, she is highly knowledgeable of the South Florida market and eager to help others find a home in the area in which she enjoys living so much.
Madeleine sold Manhattan real estate for many years at the prestigious firms Douglas Elliman and Edward Lee Cave before bringing her expertise to Palm Beach. She has also invested personally in several properties so understands the importance of the right match, and lasting value.
Prior to entering real estate, she gained valuable business experience during a lengthy career at CBS working in three divisions on two coasts. She was fortunate enough to work with Mel Brooks and Gary Belkin on what became "Get Smart," which led to her writing a series of her own that was bought by Universal and became the prototype for "WKRP in Cincinnati." This University of Miami attendee also achieved great success in various other high-profile endeavors that included being a publicist for major record companies, a press agent for Elton John's National Tour, and head of her own company specializing in independent record promotion and public relations. Madeleine also ran her own firm that imported Veneitan glass from Murano, Italy, holding the exclusive right of representation of Carlo Moretti's signed, museum-quality art line for all of America. During the 1990s, she was a pioneer in breeding and raising what she coined the next "future food," ostrich, in Connecticut then North Carolina. The Food Network has since featured her repeatedly.
Her honest, factual and straightforward approach to selling real estate combined with her seasoned negotiating skills and wealth of resources (from moving boxes to window washers) make Madeleine the ultimate agent to satisfy even the most discerning client's needs. Specializing in luxury oceanfront and midtown condominiums, she resides in the Winthrop House, plus served on the board of her prior condo, The Dorchester. Madeleine is a member of the Circumnavigators Club and The Palm Beach Theater Guild, and is a supporter of the Palm Beach Symphony.
