About Heather

Although I cherish the energy and pulse of Manhattan, I love coming home to Brooklyn. Whether you're thinking about moving to Brooklyn or you already live in the borough, it would be my privilege to help you buy or sell in the area.

When it comes to listing properties, I have a proven track record of pricing properties correctly, often garnering multiple offers and selling above the asking price.

Originally from Minnesota, I moved to New York in the mid-90s to pursue a graduate degree in English at the CUNY Graduate Center. I began my "discovery" of Brooklyn during the summer of 1999 when, in an effort to meet new people, I bought a motorcycle and joined a weekend riding club. During those summer tours I fell in love with the borough-the architecture, the brownstones, the tree-lined blocks, and the many diverse, distinct neighborhoods. To me, Brooklyn feels like a series of small towns situated next to one another. In every neighborhood I've lived, I've felt a strong sense of community. I've encountered people who make it a point to get to know their neighbors, who support their local merchants and business owners, and who are involved in community activities.

In addition to my extensive knowledge of the borough, my own experience of buying and selling homes has made me especially sympathetic to the importance of finding a broker who will ask the right questions and listen closely to the answers. Although buying and selling real estate can be a stressful endeavor, it should also be fun and exciting and it's my goal to help you enjoy the process by being energetic, accessible, and attentive.

Before working in real estate I studied interior design at FIT, worked in book marketing and publicity, and taught sex education in middle schools. My background in design has proven to be extremely valuable in helping my buyers envision the possibilities and the potential of properties and in assisting my sellers in styling their homes.

When I am not working, I love spending time in the Northern Catskills and Hudson, NY with my family, hiking, kayaking and enjoying the outdoors. I still motorcycle (although it's hard to find the time with two small daughters) but now my adventures tend to take place close to home.
