Native New Yorker, Laurie Lewis, feels at home in the City and hopes to encourage that sense of belonging in her clients as well. Finding a place to live is a very personal thing, Laurie explains, A visceral experience more than even a logical one. First impressions are more often than not the determining factor in a successful sale. You have to listen between the lines and be able to extract what it is that someone really wants, what will make them comfortable in an environment, what will make them feel at home; even if they cannot explain specifically what that is. Simply put, you have to hear what people want in order to present them with it. Laurie was hired for the highly specialized Relocation division of a leading corporate real estate company where she services many of our international clients from the worlds of finance, film, fashion and more.
She also has cultivated an eclectic and interesting referral base and is equally comfortable with the first time buyer as she is the seasoned investor; she herself is an investor and knows the criteria for the elusive good deal.
Previously an owner of a real estate advertising agency, and as the current owner/composer/producer of a music production company, in-common music, that creates scores and sound design for all kinds of film and media, Laurie knows a bit about conducting her own business. Maybe that is why I am so intent on listening to what people do want and not attempting to tell them what they should want, she says. Of paramount importance is the customer, and also just a pure knowledge of the product, and of the city. New York has a kind of pulse, a rhythm of its own. Sometimes it tells you where to go.
