West Village
Downtown West, Houston Street to 14th Street, Seventh Avenue to the Hudson River.
The West Village (the extension of Greenwich Village west of Seventh Avenue, where there are some beautiful historic townhouses and co-ops on tree-lined streets) certainly follows its own jazzy rhythms. Spend a day browsing the West Village’s bookstores, cozy cafes, and antique shops with all kinds of bric-a-brac for sale and you’ll think you’re in Paris. The apartments tend to have a historic charm too, many with fireplaces and hidden gardens. Often the older buildings have been renovated, so behind many a landmark façade is a Bulthaup kitchen with a six-burner stove!

2 Horatio St is a landmarked building located in the Greenwich Village Historic District. It faces Jackson Square Park and was one of five neighborhood buildings the Bing brothers completed in 1931 with architect Robert T. Lyons. A significant addition was made in 1963 that added four apartments on each floor. The building converted to a co-operative in 1987. It consists of 242 apartments on eighteen floors; all feature beamed ceilings and hardwood floors, most have wood-burning fireplaces. The lobby's Art Deco details were restored in 1996. The basement houses bicycle storage and laundry rooms, plus apartment storage bins. 2 Horatio is located near the elevated High Line Park and two subway lines. Bleecker Street's trendy shopping and West 4th Street's quaint townhouses are both close by. Its helpful staff, friendly doormen and on-site resident manager make 2 Horatio one of downtown's premier cooperative residences.
Additional features of this building include: Bing & Bing building, Bike room.
