    Glen Rock

Glen Rock is a charming suburban village in Bergen County. Residents of Glen Rock consider their town to be an under-the-radar gem, and people often discover it when searching for an alternative to its more well-known (and larger) neighbor of Ridgewood. The borough is named after an actual rock, a large 570-ton gneiss boulder in the middle of town, which is also known as Glen Rock. Like Ridgewood, Glen Rock has a cute downtown that’s within walking distance of most of the village, as well as boasting plenty of wide tree-lined streets with Colonial- and ranch-style houses. And Ridgewood’s own downtown — one of Bergen County’s most popular spots for dining and shopping — is just a five-minute drive from Glen Rock. The commute to New York City takes about an hour, whether it’s riding the commuter bus or New Jersey Transit from one of the town’s two train stops.
