Lurin is a hilltop neighborhood, perched above the towns of Gustavia and St. Jean, with a postcard-perfect view of the red roofs below. Lurin is a convenient location—far enough from the hustle and bustle below, but close enough that it’s just a few minutes to dinner in town. It’s also just a short drive to Shell Beach or Gouverneur Beach. Shell Beach, true to its name, is covered in millions of shells and is close to downtown Gustavia. It’s one of four beaches in the world that has such a large natural accumulation of shells on the shore. For those daring enough, swim out to the cliffs at the end of the beach, climb up and jump! Gouverneur Beach, a bit farther away, has a more remote feel, with no snack bars nearby, leaving a beautiful stretch of unspoiled beach, backed by dense, green vegetation to enjoy.
