<p>One Hanson Place is a loft conversion whose four-sided gilded clock tower rises 37 floors above the nexus of Fort Greene, Prospect Heights, Park Slope, Boerum Hill and Downtown Brooklyn. The iconic, landmark former Williamsburgh Bank Building was converted in 2007 to 179 condominiums ranging in size from studios to full-floor penthouses. All units feature top of the line finishes throughout and a minimum of 10.5 foot beamed ceilings, while some floors feature ceiling heights from 11-14 feet. Known for generations as the &acirc;&euro;&oelig;Beacon of Brooklyn&acirc;&euro;� due to its red-lit, fully-functional clock visible all over the borough, One Hanson was built in 1927 by the architectural firm of Halsey, McCormack and Helmer. The building&acirc;&euro;&trade;s stunning six-story adjacent bank lobby, leased by Skylight One Hanson as an event space, is one of the most recognized interiors in New York City. Inspired by Byzantine-Romanesque interiors, the lobby is landmarked separately and is used as an event space for private-parties and weddings, product launches,and frequent film/TV shoots. Doctors&#39; offices are located on the Ashland Place side of the building and they have their own entrance. The building anchors the South End of the expanding BAM Cultural-District.</p>


Historically one of Brooklyn’s most elegant neighborhoods, Fort Greene has long contended for the distinction of the borough’s most desirable address. Its stately brownstones are coveted and well-preserved, appearing virtually unaltered from how they looked when built during the mid-1800s. Those inhabit the area’s historic district, while luxury developments have risen around the edges. Smack dab in the middle of Fort Greene lies Fort Greene Park, the hilly green heart around which the neighborhood revolves.
