Bellevue

Bellevue is often considered to be the suburbs in all but name, as it has technically been part of the city proper since the 1970s. It’s the perfect part of town to live in if you’re looking for a quieter neighborhood with plenty of green space to explore. Edwin and Percy Warner Parks, collectively known as the Warner Parks, is a favorite destination for residents. Spanning more than 3,100 acres, the Warner Parks has hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails, golf courses, and a steeplechase course. Originally a rural community, Bellevue’s oldest commercial establishments were created to serve local farmers and travelers who were driving through to reach central Nashville. Loveless Cafe started when Lon and Annie Loveless started serving fried chicken and biscuits out of their house in 1951, and today, Loveless Cafe is a Nashville icon, baking more than 10,000 biscuits a day.

Living in the Nashville Metropolitan Area

Nashville’s nickname is “Music City,” and it has steadily been climbing the charts as one of the best places to live in the country. The quality that sets Nashville apart is its spirit—something that’s hard to quantify, but that touches every part of the metro area. Of course, by any measure, Nashville is a powerhouse, as it serves as the state capital; a well-known college town, anchored by Vanderbilt University; a major center for healthcare; and as a burgeoning destination for tech, with both Amazon and Oracle building major campuses in town. But it’s the generations of musicians who have imbued Nashville with its distinct personality. Nashville is synonymous with country music, but the city’s musicians can’t be so easily defined, as they play everything from the blues to indie rock. Music is Nashville’s heart and soul, creating a soundtrack to every part of life here.
