Have You Heard...American Cancer Society

THE Corcoran Group joined in the fight against cancer by supporting the 2013 Suits and Sneakers Corporate Challenge, a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches vs. Cancer.

Corcoran was among the over 130 corporations who hosted a Wear Your Sneakers to Work Day, in which individuals make a minimum donation of $5 for the opportunity to wear sneakers to work.

The effort raised $4,500 and earned the brokerage a place on the podium ringing the NASDAQ Closing Bell.

Corcoran regional director of human resources, Jennifer Kaplow, and Frank Liantonio, executive vice president at Cushman and Wakefield, Inc., representing New York City real estate industry supporters, joined Kris Kim from the American Cancer Society and several New York-area collegiate basketball coaches in ringing the closing bell.

Coaches included: Rutgers' Mike Rice, Mo Cassara from Hofstra, Mitch Henderson, head coach at Princeton and Gene Keady, head coach at St. John's.

Corcoran president Pamela Liebman, said, "Anytime there is an opportunity to support a worthy. cause like the American Cancer Society, Corcoran agents step right up and in this case, right into their sneakers!"
