5. Picture Perfect

$749,000 | 33 Parkway Drive, Port Chester, N.Y.
The fifth-most-popular listing of October was a pretty four-bedroom, three-bath, colonial-style house with a promise that it was well-maintained and desirably located across from a park and near the train station.

Broker: Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, White Plains Office

4. Madison Square Park Views

Next up, a three-bedroom, two-bath condo overlooking Madison Square Park in a full-service, amenity-rich building. The grandly scaled, modern-looking apartment covers 2,168 square feet, and could be combined with an adjacent unit.

3. For Large Gatherings

$11,800,000 | 5225 Renner Road, Lake Quivira, Kan.
Dropping from first place in September to third in October, this sprawling, seven-bedroom, seven-full-and-eight-half-bath home on 15 acres is suitable for large family gatherings or business retreats.

Broker: Crown Realty

2. Funky Village Pad

$899,000 | 78 Charles Street, No. 5W, West Village
Climbing from fourth place in September to second in October, a funky top-floor, one-bedroom, one-bath apartment in the West Village. A punchy paint job and 11-foot ceilings make the listing stand out.

Broker: The Corcoran Group

1. A House and the Sea

$1,448,470 | 2001 East Jeddore Road, East Jeddore, Nova Scotia
The most popular listing of October rocketed from its fifth-place spot in September. This jewel box of a house on the Atlantic coast has four bedrooms, three baths, is built to withstand hurricanes and can operate off the grid.
