Tommy Hilfiger sells East Hampton house
Published: 12/4/2007Source: NewsdayA source has confirmed to Newsday that designer Tommy Hilfiger just sold his five-bedroom, 5-« bath mansion on Further Lane in East Hampton. Hilfiger purchased the home in May 2006 for $17 million, renovated it, and placed it back on the market a few months later for $24.5 million.
The house was taken off the market and rented to singer Mariah Carey this past summer for about $350,000. It is said that Carey is not the buyer. Neighbors include Jerry Seinfeld, Helmut Lang and Donny Deutsch.
The house was sold furnished for $26.5 million. Hilfiger traveled to Bali with Brooklyn and Hamptons-based furniture designer Jason Lambeth to create some of the furnishings.
Listing agent Deirdre Jowers of the Corcoran Group would not comment on the sale.
