You've got the perfect outfit, the most stylish shoes and an award-winning smile, but what look is complete without a great head of hair? This week, Brokers Weekly asked readers where they go to treat their tresses.

Sara Rotter, of Citi Habitats, loves the stylists' creative eyes at Ted Gibson Salon on 23rd Street and 5th Avenue. She said that Michael Ulm is her go-to guy.

"[Ulm] is one of the best stylists that I have been to. He really listens to what his clients want; his creative eye and skilled hands just make it happen," she said. "The experience with him is fun and the salon provides a relaxing experience, highly recommend."

Lauren Caputo, an associate broker at Century 21 NYC, likes a stylist that can multi-task. "Chris at L'Oreal does the hottest hair and make-up," she said.

Citi Habitats' Paul Hunt is a no fuss kind of customer. "I use Brooklyn General Barber Emporium in Williamsburg," he said. "Why, because it is a single chair operation with a terrific barber and the cut is $6."

Patti Avella, of Citi Habitats, has insider access to one of the city's hottest salons.

"One of my closest friends Mary is the director of education for Sally Hershberger, hairstylist to the stars," she said. "The salon is located in the Meatpacking District.

Whenever I go to get my hair done; there is a possibility of a well-known celebrity sitting in the chair next to me!"

Haviland Morris, of Citi Habitats, loves Clara Purvis at Blackstone's at 19 East 7th Street for being able to work wonders on her hair.

"She's a genius with the scissors, a delight to spend an hour with, and Blackstone's is this great, idiosyncratic, fun place within walking distance of both my apartment and my office," she said. "I can almost always get an appointment within a day or so - critical, since I never quite realize what a disaster my hair has become until it's almost past the point of no return - and they use the most delicious smelling products. Perfection!"

Francesca Mannarino-Werz, senior associate broker at Corcoran, is very cautious when entrusting a stylist to her wavy locks, but she's finally found the perfect fit.

"Christopher Stanley in Chelsea," she declared. "Mauricio is great with curly or wavy hair, which can be very difficult to manage. I've tried many different salons and hair dressers, but I was sold on him the first time."

Michael Lockley, of Citi Habitats, goes to Astor Place when his 'do needs some freshening up.

"Where else can you get a good cut and wash for $15? Plus the atmosphere is so unique: businessmen in pin-striped suits getting a trim, kids from the Village getting a Mohawk, kids from the Hood getting a design buzzed in, plus you never know when a celebrity will drop in," he said. "Afterwards, you can treat yourself to a choux at Bear Papas around the comer."

Robert Sloan loves the full service treatment at John Allan in Saks. "Three locations ... shampoo, cut, shoe shine, hot towel, manicure and a drink package deal for $65 or $700 for the year with unlimited services," he said. "Go two to three times a week and always look your best."

Juliet A. Clapp, of Citi Habitats had been going to Bumble and Bumble for years.

"My stylist Vaughn is just amazing. He listens to what you want, he gives you ideas and every time you come out looking fabulous," she said. "He knows what works for you, your face, your personality, etc. I've never been disappointed."

Tracie Hamersley, of Citi Habitats, not only likes Mon Hair on Third Avenue because she always leaves looking great, but also because she gets a free language lesson. "Francisco is the greatest, most creative stylist who gives very reasonable prices and also lets me practice my Spanish with him," she said.

Although Damien Reilly of Citi Habitats prefers to sport the bald look, he won't just go anywhere for a cut. He's swears by the straight edge shave at Astor Hair. "When you're a bald guy like myself you need to go to the best when getting a new cut. And, well, this is the best in the City for the value; this place has all the history you need, so many people get their hair cut here," he said. "The hot towel service is excellent and you walk out feeling like a new man!"

Speaking of value, Citi Habitats' Seth R. Hirschhorn has got it at Barber Shop on 45th between Third and Lexington, which offers $12 haircuts.

"The place has been open since 1937 when haircuts were 35 cents," he said. "No appointment necessary. First come, first served. Hot shaving cream, neck-shave with every haircut. Best kept secret in Manhattan."

Jennifer Statfeld, of Citi Habitats, also likes to feel like she's getting her money's worth when getting her hair done. "By far the most talented, friendly and reasonably-priced hair guy is stylistBlade.com at Dramatics NYC," she said. "He listens to exactly what you want and is also a gifted colorist. He goes above and beyond by giving great styling ideas and precisely what you ask for. I would recommend this salon and stylist to all."

David Feldman, of Citi Habitats, uses getting a hair cut as a way to catch up with an old friend at Takamichi Hair at 35 Great Jones St.

"I met Takamichi about 12 years ago playing soccer and have been a friend/client ever since. I followed him when he made the move to open his first studio and again when he expanded into the current loft space he occupies on Great Jones Street," he said. "While Tak was born in Japan, he's in many ways 'the ideal New Yorker' - sophisticated without being pretentious, very dedicated to his job and always interested in new people and experiences. He always goes out of his way to make you feel like you're his most important clients."

Timothy Lamberson, of Citi Habitats, likes to add some great conversation with his haircut. "My favorite place is Myrna's Salon on 77th between 3rd and 2nd Avenues because it's very cheap ($26), the conversation is always enjoyable, it's quick and the haircut is great every single time," he said. "I've been going there for three years now and have never walked away unhappy."

Julia Latora, of Citi Habitats, loves Elia salon at 850 Amsterdam.

"The Dominican stylists do such a fabulous job and really pay attention to detail like no other," she said. "And where else do they offer you 'un cafecito' while you're getting your hair washed?"
