The creator of the South Beach Diet, Dr. Arthur Agatston, has purchased a home in the village of East Hampton with his wife, attorney Sari Agatston. The skinny on the diet doctor's new digs can be found in the latest transfers listed in the Long Island Real Estate Report.

The couple paid $7 million for a home at the end of October, according to the report.

Listing information shows that the 6,400-square-foot traditional manse sits on 1.86 acres and was built in 2000. Amenities include seven bedrooms, 7 « baths, a den, a library, an elevator, a built-in outdoor barbecue, a tennis court and a gunite pool.

The home was listed with Georgia Curatola and Arlene Reckson of The Corcoran Group.

Agatston, creator of the South Beach Diet and bestselling author of "The South Beach Diet" lifestyle books, was born and raised in Roslyn and has made many visits to the East End with his family. He resides and practices in Miami, Fla., and says he looks forward to spending time in the Hamptons.
