Like most first-time prospective homebuyers, the process of becoming eventual homeowners was extremely daunting for us as newlyweds. We set out on our journey house shopping during the winter of 2016, using various website and search tools. These resources were helpful for our tertiary research but  they were not intuitive in helping us identify gaps in our own knowledge. We were extremely fortunate that our preliminary searches lead us to Heidi Burkhardt with McEnearney Associates, Inc - Old Town Office. We first met Heidi when we were running late for an Open House in Old Town, VA. Heidi was very friendly and offered to take us through the house even though the allotted timeslot was over. While we did not end up placing an offer on this first house, we did continue to keep in contact with Heidi. Heidi was able to set up a search portal that was tailored to meet the exact criteria we were looking for. The portal provided us with considerably more information than any of the search engines we had been using online. Heidi was great to work with. We decided to go with her as our realtor after 2 friends' recommendations. After our first meeting with Heidi, we felt very comfortable moving forward working with her.
