    Awards
    • Suzanne embodies all the positive attributes of the Ramsey community. Not only has she been a long-time resident of the area, but she and her husband Ed have also owned and operated a successful realestate business in Ramsey for nearly 4 decades.
    • In addition to her work in her own business, Suzanne still has found time to commit her energy to many other professional organizations. She has been a member of numerous boards, including the Board of the Saddle River Landmark Commission, while now she also actively participates in many real estate groups--becoming certified by the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers, the National Association of Realtors, RealSource Board of Realtors…… and the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors.
    • However, what distinguishes Suzanne here tonight is her outstanding volunteerism, specifically her immense contributions to the Ramsey Chamber of Commerce.
    • Suzanne is one of the longest tenured Chamber Board members. In fact, she—along with another current board member, Adam Sroczynski—helped keep the Chamber of Commerce active nearly a decade ago, when the previous volunteers decided to move on. Now, having successfully helped revive our organization, Suzanne works tirelessly to fulfill the Chamber’s mission of “connecting commerce and community.”
    • Her relationships with those on the council, the town clerk’s office, her relationship with Nancy Boone of the Ramsey Farmers Market…..as well as her innumerable friendships and associations with other small businesses and organizations around Ramsey are a testament to Suzanne’s ability to work with others, her good-natured personality, and most importantly her willingness to help others in the community whenever needed.
    • As a specific illustration, one of Suzanne’s primary roles on the Chamber board is to engage new businesses entering Ramsey. With the help of councilwoman Sara Poppe as well as through her own
    • determination and initiative, Suzanne has created a direct communication process whereby she is notified of new businesses when they file with the town. Working with members of the town council, Suzanne reaches out to the new business owners, welcomes them to town, introduces them to the Chamber of Commerce as a resource….and, in many cases, offers these new businesses the opportunity to schedule their own formal Grand Opening.
    • These grand opening events are widely popular and immediately help engage new business owners into the community…..and they are thrilled with the great publicity.
    • However, coordinating these events—that is, working with multiple schedules and the logistics of all
    • those involved---can be very time-consuming and challenging. But Suzanne makes it work, demonstrating patience and perseverance….all with a smile.
    • In short, the Chamber of Commerce---and the town of Ramsey--are very fortunate to have individuals
    • like Suzanne who selflessly dedicates her time and energy to making our group work…. and our town
    • business community thrive. Whether she is reaching out to new businesses, addressing concerns of
    • existing business owners, or just managing Chamber of Commerce-member events, Suzanne does
    • amazing work and is truly an outstanding volunteer.
    • As such, on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce, we are proud to present this Volunteer award to
    • Suzanne Jahn—someone who is always looking to bridge Commerce and Community.
