Let me start by saying, not all brokers are the same. Although the steps, procedures and commissions may be identical, the ability to listen and care about a client's concerns, to me, is paramount. My wife and I were selling our home of 60 years in San Francisco to move closer to our children and grandchildren. We had previously met with another broker who was very pushy about a quick turnaround timeline, even after we explained there were family issues that prevented a rapid sale.
